VOLUME FIVE: ISSUE ONE 17MICHAEL APONTEVISIT BEAUTIFUL CALIFORNIA OIL COUNTRYCalifornia is known for it’s beautiful coast, incredible sunsets, wine and.... oil. A major economic force in California for over 100 years, we often overlook the industries infrastructure that surrounds us on the central coast. While oil production has a devastating impact on our environment, the jobs and revenue it brings to many are undeniable. This photo was shot for an abject project in art theory class. My attempt is to portray the complicated relationship we have with oil production in the middle of wine country.These art pieces represent the study of color theory and the role it plays in human perception of the world around.
