Springorum Chairman of the Committee D h' 1 /-.. .:;: /1 1 fin By letter of 25 February 1974 the President of the Council of the European Communities requested the European Parliament to deliver an opinion on the Communication from the Commission of the European Communities to the Council on the implementation of the 'Guidelines and priority measures for a Community energy policy•. The President of the European Parliament referred this proposal to the Corranittee on Energy, Research and Technology, instructing it to consider the possibility of adopting the simplified procedure. On 25 March 1974 the Committee on Energy, Research and Technology decided to apply the procedure for simplified consultation and the President was therefore instructed to submit the report to Parliament. The following were present: Mr Springorum, chairman and rapporteur; Mr Leonardi, vice-chairman; Lord Bessborough, Mr Bregegere {deputizing for Mr Giraud), Mr Bu~gbacher, Mr Covelli {deputizing for Mr Jakobsen), Mr Flamig, Mr Glesener, Mr Hougardy, Mr Kater, Mr Krall, Mr Lagorce, Mr Lautenschlager, Mr Martens (deputizing for Mr Van der Gun), Mr Memmel, Mr Willi MUller, Mr Noe, Mr Normanton, Mr Petersen, Mr Schmidt {deputizing for Mr N/6rgaard), Mr Verhaegen, Mr Vetrone {deputizing for Mr Andreotti) and Mrs Walz. - 3 - PE 36_541/fin_ I A The Committee on Energy, Research and Technology hereby submits to the European Parliament the following motion for a resolution: MOTION FOR A RESOLUTION embodying the opinion of the European Parliament on the Communication from the Commission of the European Communities to the Council on the implemen-tation of the 'Guidelines and priority measures for a Community energy policy'. The European Parliament, - having regard to the communication from the Commission of the European Comrnuni ties to the Council ( COM ( 74) 10 final) , - having been consulted by the Council (Doc. 386/73), - having regard to the report of the Committee on Energy, Research and Technology (Doc. 42/74), 1. Approves the Commission's Communication; 2. Instructs its President to forward this resolution and the report of its committee to the Council and Commission of the European Communities. - 5 - PE 36.541/fin. B EXPLANATORY STATEMENT The Committee on Energy, Researche and Technology has no objections to the Commission's proposal and therefore approves it. - 6 - PE 36 541/fin.
