This bachelor thesis describes the procedures of public procurement, specifically concerning art museum buildings. The first part is dedicated to the legal aspect of public procurement, the Czech Chamber of Architects and its competition code. Discussed also are other available methods of public procurement. The second part shows how the Gallery of West Bohemia in Pilsen and the Museum of Art Olomouc proceeded in the matter of announcing the architecture competition for their new buildings. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain whether proposal competitions are the most suitable method of public procurement.
