From the observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperature, it is now evident
that warming of the climate system is unequivocal. The root cause of global warming is in the increasing
concentration of greenhouse gases (GHG), particularly CO2, in the earth’s atmosphere in the period following
the industrial revolution. Increases in GHG emissions in the atmosphere are largely because of fossil fuel
