In this note we summarize the studies to optimize the layout of long OT detector modules in the region of the wire termination (``the y=0 plane''). To have non-overlapping dead regions of the two straw planes inside a detector module is considered advantageous. To mount the detector modules asymmetric does not improve existing algorithms significantly, but leads to possible complications, the effects of which have not been simulated
