This article provides a historical account of the times when the image of Santa María de Guadalupe had to be removed from the vicinity of Tepeyac. In the context of the second removal of the Sacred Original, it narrates the creation of the image that replaced the Ayate of San Juan Diego on the main altar of the Colegiata between 1926 and 1929, as well as the final fate of this "Twin".Este artículo hace un recuento histórico de las ocasiones en que la imagen de Santa María de Guadalupe tuvo que ser retirada de las inmediaciones del Tepeyac. En el contexto de la segunda salida del Sagrado Original, se relata también la creación de la imagen que sustituyó al Ayate de San Juan Diego en el altar mayor de la Colegiata entre los años de 1926 y 1929, así como el destino final de esta “Gemela”
