This article I present several topics explored by the religious poetry of Sufi, using as examples poems ascribed to Persian poet Baba Taher (i.a. the question of evil, suffering, death) – in particular, I discuss the question of purported (un)orthodoxy (with regard to Islam) of his thought (the alleged pantheism or even atheism, determinism, amoralism, and the sensual presentation of the spiritual love).W artykule przedstawiono na przykładzie utworów przypisywanych pierwszemu z wielkich perskich poetów sufickich niektóre tematy, które podejmuje „religijna literatura piękna” tego nurtu islamu (m.in. pytanie o zło, cierpienie i śmierć), a także kontrowersje wokół „ortodoksyjności” wyrażonych w ten sposób myśli (rzekomy panteizm, ateizm, determinizm i amoralizm, „zmysłowe” przedstawienie „duchowej” miłości).
