This report summarizes the activities deployed in 2021 on the development and maintenance of the European and Global Drought Observatories. The report is part of a series of annual reports that are published since 2016. Most of the functionalities of the observatories are described in these reports, thus giving the reader an insight in the functionalities of the observatories and the work to create them. Highlights of 2021 are finalization of the download function, with a huge effort to make the metadata supporting this consistently. Further we started to make the site responsive, working in an optimized manner for several screen formats, using the Copernicus template. The EDO and GDO physical webserver, acquired in 2016, started to make its first hiccups, these are further described and accompanied with suggestions to avoid issues in the future.JRC.E.1 - Disaster Risk Managemen
