Evaluation of genetic diversity of rose (Rosa sp.) collection in Tra Vinh

Abstract

Roses are beautiful flowers and have been widely grown in many parts of the world, and more different favorites and purposes by consumers such as decorating space, making perfume, cosmetics, and medicine. With luxurious flower styles, diverse colors, and pleasant fragrances, it can be grown all year round in many different climatic conditions, which is very convenient for production development. Companies that maintain and develop rose genetic resources have not received much attention from many researchers, so the current rose genetic resources are complex, fragmented, and unclear sources. The genetic evaluation relationships for rose varieties in the collection will provide useful information and data on conservation and hybridization. In this study, there are 30 rose varieties collected in Dong Thap, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Ho Chi Minh City are stored and evaluated in Tra Vinh Province. This collection was used for genetic analysis based on morphological characteristics with 22 monitoring criteria. Genetic diversity analysis was performed using NTSYSpc 2.1 software. The results show that based on 22 main morphological characteristics of plant, leaves, and flower phenotype, flower color, and fragrances. The phylogenetic tree was divided into six main groups when the genetic similarity coefficient was 0.78
