The article aims to present the life and activities of bookbinders and booksellers from the Cundisius family, operating in the 17th and 18th centuries in Wschowa and Leszno. The analysis of incomplete material collected by means of archival, bibliographic and literature research, it was possible to determine the fate of several family members. The figure of Johann Kuntze (1626–1700) was most fully presented, using the Latinized form of his surname. Born in Merseburg, active in Görlitz, before 1669 he settled in Wschowa. Here he published a report on the visit of Augustus II to this city. His grandson was probably the bookbinder in Leszno, Johann Gottfried (d. 1769), known for publishing three editions of the hymnal for the Lutheran parish in Leszno. Other members of the Cundisius family dealt solely with bookbinding. Conclusion: In view of the available data it has been established that the Cundisius family dominated the 18th century bookmarket in the field of bookbinding in Wschowa and Leszno. At the end of the century the family’s position decreased due to the changes in book production and trade.Celem artykułu jest próba przedstawienia dziejów rodziny pracowników książki – Cundisiusów, parających się działalnością wydawniczą, księgarską i introligatorstwem we Wschowie i Lesznie na przełomie XVII i XVIII wieku. W wyniku analizy niekompletnych materiałów zebranych na podstawie przeprowadzonych kwerend archiwalnych, bibliograficznych oraz w literaturze przedmiotu udało się ustalić losy kilku przedstawicieli rodziny. Najpełniej zaprezentowana została postać Johanna Kuntzego (1626–1700), posługującego się zlatynizowaną formą nazwiska, który – urodzony w Merseburgu, czynny zawodowo w Görlitz – przed 1669 rokiem osiadł we Wschowie. Tu ogłosił relację z wizyty Augusta II w tym mieście. Zapewne jego wnukiem był introligator w Lesznie Johann Gottfried (zm. 1769), znany z wydania trzech edycji śpiewnika dla użytku parafii luterańskiej w Lesznie. Pozostali przedstawiciele rodziny zajmowali się jedynie oprawą książek. Wnioski: W świetle dostępnych danych wiadomo, że Cundisiusowie zdominowali rynek książki we Wschowie i Lesznie w XVIII wieku w zakresie oprawy książek.
