The aim of the present article is to retrace the path taken by, and the intellectual production of, Severo D’Acelino, a writer, actor, theater director, cultural producer and black activist from Sergipe State. The idea is to show how his work, mainly his literary production, gives centrality to the African-descendant matter and helps fostering new narratives, approaches, subjectivities and epistemic practices in the ethnic-racial relations’ field. O artigo pretende reconstituir a trajetória e a produção intelectual de Severo D’Acelino, um escritor, ator, diretor de teatro, produtor cultural e ativista negro sergipano. A ideia é demonstrar como a obra desse intelectual, notadamente sua produção literária, confere centralidade à questão do negro, contribuindo para fomentar novas narrativas, abordagens, subjetividades e práticas epistêmicas no campo das relações étnico raciais
