Abstract
In this article is discussed a reinterpration of a Norse text concerningHarald Hardrada who, as it seems, was active during the Pechenegs invasionsin the Balkans. The article provides some very interesting new details to ourknowledge of the Varangian troops and their relations with Byzantium
