The exhibition “In the world of books. The history of the book from the birth of writing to the 21st century” was presented at the Józef Szujski Sądecka Public Library in Nowy Sącz from 15 November 2019 to 6 January 2020. The exhibition enabled all interested parties to deepen their knowledge of “the history of the book from the birth of writing to the 21st century”. It also made everyone aware of how the world has changed over the centuries, and with it, new ideas for books appear and new forms of relationship between the reader and their content are created. The article presents unique and valuable items from the collections of the Sądecka Public Library, the Nomina Rosae Garden of Old Culture Foundation, the Evangelical Augsburg Parish of the Transfiguration in Nowy Sącz and private collections. These included, among others: old prints, books published from the 19th to 21st century, reprints and facsimiles of handwritten books, albums, atlases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, comics, audiobooks, and magazines.W dniach od 15 listopada 2019 do 6 stycznia 2020 roku w Sądeckiej Bibliotece Publicznej im. Józefa Szujskiego w Nowym Sączu była prezentowana wystawa ,,W świecie ksiąg. Historia książki od narodzin pisma po XXI wiek”. Ekspozycja umożliwiła wszystkim zainteresowanym pogłębienie wiedzy na temat ,,historii książki od narodzin pisma po XXI wiek”. Uświadomiła ona również, jak w ciągu wieków zmienia się świat, a wraz z nim pojawiają się nowe pomysły na książki i tworzą się nowe formy relacji między czytelnikiem a ich zawartością. W artykule przestawione zostały eksponowane na wystawie, unikatowe i cenne egzemplarze pochodzące ze zbiorów Sądeckiej Biblioteki Publicznej, Fundacji Nomina Rosae Ogród Kultury Dawnej, parafii ewangelicko-augsburskiej Przemienienia Pańskiego w Nowym Sączu oraz kolekcji prywatnych. Wśród nich znalazły się m.in. stare druki, książki wydane od XIX do XXI wieku, reprinty i faksymile rękopiśmiennych ksiąg, albumy, atlasy, encyklopedie, słowniki, komiksy, audiobooki, a także czasopisma
