The Limits of Using an Anti-Semitism Rhetoric Against the Anti-Zionist Discourse: The Case of Jewish Voice for Peace

Abstract

This presentation tracks the historical manipulation of the anti-Semitic rhetoric, from the conservative Jewish reactions against the American Council of Judaism during WWII, to contemporary ones against the anti-Zionist activism of JVP. It also provides an insight into the scholarly and structured arguments proposed by JVP’s contributors against the anti-Semitic label and libel, and ultimately seeks to denounce the lexical and ideological manipulation of the anti-Semitism – both as a term and a phenomenon – by conservative parties for conservative prospects
