Using Oversampling Technique in Wireless Transceivers

Abstract

This paper describes the different aspects of the Ph.D. research work, on low cost architectures for wireless applications. It describes a few trends in transceiver architectures, applications of delta sigma modulation and the orientation of the research project in this context. The description in VHDL and implementation of delta sigma converters in different blocks of the transceiver architecture should be main concern in the Ph.D project. The target technology would be CMOS, which gives low cost products with a low-power consumption and a high integration level. Keywords---Delta-Sigma converter, VHDL, CMOS, wireless transceiver, mixed signal, cost. I. INTRODUCTION I N mobile communication (cordless, wireless) applications, a main concern is the cost of the final product. Traditionally, telecommunication applications were based on GaAs (GalliumArsenide) technology, where frequencies over 100 GHz can be reached. Unfortunately GaAs technology is several times more expensive than Silic..
