Master's thesis in theology. VID Specialized University, Stavanger, May 2024I denne masteroppgaven har jeg forsøkt å vise hvordan kristendom presenteres i pensumbøker i den norske skolen. For å oppnå dette, har jeg gjennomført to prosesser.
I den første prosessen har jeg søkt igjennom med noen begreper for å finne frem til steder der kristendom står nevnt. Disse står listet opp i kapittel 1.3.1. Dette har jeg gjort innenfor fagene norsk, samfunnsfag, naturfag, matematikk og engelsk, på alderstrinnene 5. – 10. klasse, og innenfor to lærebokforlag, Gyldendal og Cappelen Damm.
Den andre prosessen har vært å samle informasjonen under ulike temaer, og undersøke hvilke påstander som er korrekt, hvilke som er upresise, og hvilke som er feil. Flertallet av påstandene handler om forholdet mellom tro og vitenskap, og forholdet mellom kirken og hekseri. Forholdet mellom tro og vitenskap finner man spredd over alle fag og alderstrinn, mens kirkens forhold til hekseri i hovedsak står beskrevet i 4 bøker, hvor to av dem er norskbøker som inneholder lengre tekster med mange påstander å undersøke.
Gjennom innsamling av informasjon har jeg funnet at det store flertallet av stedene kristendom er nevnt, har det et negativt fortegn. Av de rundt 200 stedene jeg fant kristendommen omtalt, var det kun 4 av dem som hadde et tydelig positivt blikk.
Gjennom analyse og undersøkelse, har jeg funnet at et flertall av påstandene med negativt fortegn er upresise eller feil.In this Master thesis I have attempted to show how Chritianity is presented in textbooks in the Norwegian school. To achieve this, I have conducted to processes.
In the first process, I searched through some terms so find places where Christianity is mentioned. These terms are listed in chapter 1.3.1. I have done this research in the subjects Norwegian, social studies, natural science, mathematics, and English, for the age groups 11 to 16 years, and within the textbook publishers, Gyldendal and Cappelen Damm.
The second process was to gather information under various themes and examine which statements are correct, which ones are impresise, and which are wrong. The majority of the statements deal with the relationship between faith and natural science, and the relationship between the church and witchcraft. The relationship between faith and science is found scatteres across all subjects and levels, while the church’s relationship to witchcraft is mainly described in 4 books, two of them books in the subject Norwegian with longer texts and many claims to examine.
Through the collection of information, I found that the vast majority of the places mentionin Christianity had a negative connotation. Of the approximately 200 places I found Christianity mentioned, only 4 of them had a clearly positive view.
Through analysis and investigation, I found that a majority of the statements with a negative connotation are impresice or wrong.submittedVersio
