O presente trabalho está estruturado em dois capítulos: o primeiro capítulo trata da
componente de estágio em farmácia comunitária, enquanto o segundo capítulo aborda a
componente de investigação.
No primeiro capítulo, o objetivo é detalhar os conhecimentos adquiridos e a experiência
obtida durante o estágio. Este estágio ocorreu na Farmácia do Carmo, no Funchal, entre
os dias 5 de fevereiro e 21 de junho de 2024, totalizando aproximadamente cinco meses.
O segundo capítulo, intitulado “Fitoterapia na Prevenção e Tratamento da Psoríase”,
consiste numa revisão bibliográfica sobre plantas medicinais e fórmulas fitoterápicas
com potencial para tratar a psoríase. A psoríase é uma doença inflamatória crónica da
pele que afeta muitas pessoas em todo o mundo. Devido à necessidade de tratamentos
eficazes e com menos efeitos adversos, tem-se verificado um aumento na utilização de
plantas medicinais. Assim, este estudo tem como objetivo rever as propriedades
terapêuticas dos compostos ativos de diversas plantas medicinais usadas no tratamento
da psoríase. Evidências científicas, incluindo estudos in vitro, in vivo e ensaios clínicos,
confirmam a eficácia dessas plantas no tratamento da psoríase, posicionando-as como
alternativas promissoras e menos invasivas em comparação com os tratamentos
convencionais. Conclui-se que as plantas medicinais, graças aos seus compostos
bioativos, oferecem uma abordagem complementar e potencialmente eficaz para a
prevenção e tratamento da psoríase, embora sejam necessários mais estudos para
otimizar as suas aplicações clínicas.This work is structured in two chapters: the first chapter deals with the internship
component in community pharmacy, while the second chapter deals with the research
component.
In the first chapter, the aim is to detail the knowledge acquired and the experience gained
during the internship. This internship took place at Farmácia do Carmo, in Funchal,
between 5th February and 21st June 2024, totalling approximately five months.
The second chapter, entitled "Phytotherapy in the Prevention and Treatment of
Psoriasis", consists of a bibliographical review of medicinal plants and herbal formulas
with the potential to treat psoriasis. Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that
affects many people around the world. Due to the need for effective treatments with
fewer adverse effects, there has been an increase in the use of medicinal plants.
Therefore, this study aims to review the therapeutic properties of the active compounds
of various medicinal plants used in the treatment of psoriasis. Scientific evidence,
including in vitro and in vivo studies and clinical trials, confirms the efficacy of these
plants in the treatment of psoriasis, positioning them as promising and less invasive
alternatives to conventional treatments. It is concluded that medicinal plants, thanks to
their bioactive compounds, offer a complementary and potentially effective approach to
the prevention and treatment of psoriasis, although more studies are needed to optimise
their clinical applications
