Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo el de ofrecer un análisis de la ocupación paleolítica de las sociedades cazadoras-recolectores en la Región Geohistórica del Estrecho de Gibraltar, especialmente en los espacios que denominamos ‘’ambientes montañosos’’, marcados estos por su caracterización geográfica y geológica. Para ello, partiendo metodológicamente de la Arqueología Social, trazaremos una secuencia que nos permitirá comprender los modos de vida y producción de las bandas cazadoras-recolectoras desde las primeras ocupaciones (Modo I) hasta los momentos finales del Paleolítico (Modo IV). Igualmente, incidiremos en otros aspectos de carácter geológico/geográfico e historiográfico a fin de comprender el actual estado de la cuestión.This work has as aim giving an analysis about paleolithic occupation of hunter-gatherer societies in the Geohistorical Region of the Gibraltar Strait, especially at spaces that we called ‘’mountainous environments’’, defined for their geographic and geological characterization. To that end, and taking Social Archaeology as methodology, we draw a sequence that will allow us to know the way of life and production of the hunter-gatherer groups from the first occupations (Mode I) to the final moments of Paleolithic (Mode IV). Likewise, we analyze other aspects in a geological/geographic and historiographical sense in order to understand the current status of the issue
