El territorio de los ríos Guadalteba y Turón se sitúa en la Andalucía Central, concretamente
en el noroeste de la provincia de Málaga. En este trabajo pretendemos presentar desde la posición
teórica de la Arqueología Social, el conocimiento existente sobre las sociedades que ocuparon el
mencionado territorio durante la Prehistoria Reciente. Partimos de la comprensión del marco
geográfico, geológico y los recursos susceptibles de explotación. Seguidamente analizamos el patrón
de asentamiento, y aspectos económicos como la tecnología lítica, las cerámicas, etc., con el fin de
sentar las bases para ordenar la secuencia arqueológica y estratigráfica. Nuestra intención es
profundizar en los estudios del proceso de transición de las sociedades tribales comunitarias neolíticas
a las clasistas iniciales.The area of the Guadalteba and Turón rivers is located in the Central Andalusia, particularly
in the northwest of the province of Malaga. In this paper we intend to present from the theoretical
position of the Social Archaeology, the existing knowledge about the societies that occupied that
territory during the Late Prehistory. We start from the understanding of the geographical setting,
geological and exploitable resources. We then analyze the pattern of settlement and economic aspects
as lithic technology, ceramics, etc., in order to lay the basis for ordering the archaeological and
stratigraphic sequence. Our intention is to deepen the studies of transition from the tribal Neolithic
community societies to the early classists
