The document of the Pontifical Biblical Commission “Interpreting the Bible in the Church” (1993), discussing the issue of contextual biblical interpretation, refers to feminist hermeneutics. Feminist theology as the fruit of the encounter between the social movement and academic theological reflection is mainly focused on the interpretation of biblical texts. However, there is no single feminist approach to the Scripture, or feminist way of Biblical interpretation. We can speak of “feminist hermeneutics” rather than one type of “hermeneutics”. Even though they have their own strengths and weaknesses, they are very much needed in contemporary Church. Taking them seriously can be an important element in the development of contemporary theological thought.Dokument Papieskiej Komisji Biblijnej „Interpretacja Biblii w Kościele” z 1993 r., omawia kwestię kontekstualnej lektury Biblii i jednocześnie przywołuje hermeneutykę feministyczną. Teologia feministyczna, będąc owocem spotkania ruchu społecznego z naukową refleksją teologiczną, w dużej mierze skoncentrowana jest wokół interpretacji tekstu biblijnego. Nie ma jednak jednego feministycznego podejścia do Pisma Świętego, jednej feministycznej drogi odczytywania Biblii. Możemy mówić raczej o „hermeneutykach feministycznych” niż o jednej „hermeneutyce”. Są one potrzebne dzisiejszemu Kościołowi. Mają swoje mocne i słabe strony. Poważne ich potraktowanie może stanowić ważny element w rozwoju współczesnej myśli teologicznej
