Abstract

Tropical cyclone activity of the eastern North Pacific hurricane season was near average during 2012. Of the seventeen tropical storms that formed, ten became hurricanes and five reached major hurricane strength (category 3 or stronger on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale).
