The definitions that can be ascribed to Nina Bouraoui - French, Algerian, woman, homosexual etc. - are not neutral. This essay investigates the narrator's subjectivity in the novel "Nos baisers sont des adieux" (2010). It further aims at placing this novel in the context of Bouraoui's other autobiographical works in order to distinguish a logical development in her literary serach for self, and to better comprehend Bouraoui's own intention with her autobiographical writing
