Szyszkowiana/pseudoszyszkowiana z dawnego księgozbioru bernardynów z Karczówki, przechowywane obecnie w zbiorach Biblioteki Wyższego Seminarium Duchownego w Kielcach. Komunikat („Vilescit quilibet semper apignis liber infirmatur”, wpis w jednej z książek

Abstract

The article discusses the significance of the six old prints of the old library of the Bernadines of Karczówka (now within the boundaries of the contemporary Kielce city) that include the provenance notes denoting them to be the gift of Kraków bishop Marcin Szyszkowski from the year 1630. However, it is well known that, according to the recent research, bishop Szyszkowski was against assuming the church of St. Charles Borromeo by the said Bernardines. It is thus justified to consider the six old prints to be some kind of the corner stone of the foundation giving the Bernardines the rights to Karczówka. The other two old prints form the nephew of bishop Szyszkowski seem to support the hypothesis. These findings were been made possible thanks to the detailed survey conducted in the Library of the Seminary in Kielce while working on the monograph of the library of the Bernardines of Karczówka
