The paper is a digressive review of some online museum websites, selected and arranged thematically according to the author’s scholarly interests, but especially in the context of the method of making the collections available online. Museum institutions propose various methods and scopes of presentation: from the simplest posting of photographs of the most spectacular monuments (the so-called highlights of the collection) to professional databases covering the entire collection including storage facilities, supported by complex and advanced search tools and also a fully scientific description. Therefore, particular museums differently define the profile of addressees of their collections presented online.Artykuł jest dygresyjnym przeglądem kilku internetowych witryn muzeów, wybranych i uporządkowanych tematycznie według klucza naukowych zainteresowań autora, zwłaszcza w kontekście sposobu udostępniania online zgromadzonych zbiorów. Instytucje muzealne proponują rozmaite metody i zakresy prezentacji: od najprostszego zamieszczenia fotografii kilkudziesięciu najbardziej spektakularnych zabytków (tzw. highlights of the collection) po profesjonalne bazy danych obejmujące całość zasobów wraz z obiektami magazynowymi, wspomagane zaawansowanymi narzędziami przeszukiwania i w pełni naukową deskrypcją.
