El estudio abordo el tema los estereotipos negativos hacia la vejez. el enfoque de la
investigación fue cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, de tipo descriptivo. el objetivo fue
identificar los niveles de estereotipos negativos hacia la vejez. la muestra fue no probabilística
constituida por 100 adultos mayores pertenecientes a una asociación del sur de quito. entre los
principales resultados se encontró que, el 98% de los adultos mayores presenta un alto nivel de
estereotipos negativos hacia la vejez, la dimensión salud mostro el más alto nivel de
estereotipos negativos que corresponde al 98% de la muestra, seguido por la dimensión
motivacional-social con el 97 % de los investigados y finalmente, la dimensión carácter
personalidad con el 93%.The study addressed the topic of negative stereotypes towards old age. The research
approach was quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive in design. The objective was to
identify the levels of negative stereotypes towards old age. The sample was non-probabilistic,
consisting of 100 older adults belonging to an association in the south of Quito. Among the
main results, it was found that 98% of older adults present a high level of negative stereotypes
towards old age, the health dimension showed the highest level of negative stereotypes that
corresponds to 98% of the sample, followed by the dimension motivational-social with 97% of
