Demographic factors affecting fire prevention and control behaviors in Vietnam

Abstract

This study explores the impact of demographic factors on Fire Prevention and Control behaviors (FPC) in Vietnam, focusing on variables such as gender, age, living area, marital status, type of housing, professional situation, and income to assess their influence on personal preparedness, personal security, awareness of fire risks, and preventive knowledge. Regression analysis of data from 300 respondents using SPSS 2.0 software reveals that age and income have significant positive relationships with personal preparedness and awareness of fire risks, while marital status shows a negative correlation with these factors. Notably, the type of housing impacts the level of preparedness and knowledge about fire prevention. The study's findings underline the importance of developing targeted education and communication strategies in FPC to enhance effectiveness by focusing on specific demographic groups. This contributes to the development of effective policies and guidance programs to improve FPC awareness and skills among citizens, thereby reducing risks and enhancing community safety against fires
