Abstract

<i>Pelocoris politus</i> Montandon, 1895 <p> <i>Pelocoris politus</i> Montandon, 1895: 8–9 (original description)</p> <p>(Figs. 5, 7E, 7K, 8D, 9E, 10E, 11E, 12C, 15)</p> <p> <b>Diagnosis:</b> Body length 8.0– 8.7 mm; abdominal tergum IV with posterolateral corner spinose and produced posteriorly (Fig. 5); male abdominal tergum VII with posterior margin straight (Fig. 7E); lateral margins of phallosoma with two distinct grooves (Fig. 7K) (Nieser & Melo 1997); female subgenital plate with posterior margin sharply incised at midline, forming two rounded lobes (Fig. 9E) (Nieser 1975; Rodrigues <i>et al</i>., unpublished data); female abdominal tergum VIII narrowly rounded apically (Fig. 10E); valvulae 2 dentate along lateral margins (Fig. 11E); distal portion of metapleura narrowly rounded and produced posteriorly (Fig. 12C).</p> <p> <b>Material examined:</b> All specimens macropterous. 1 male and 2 females, BRAZIL, <b>Maranhão</b>, Aldeias Altas municipality, Faz.
