KETERBUKAAN DIRI LAKI-LAKI FEMINIM SEBAGAI REPRESENTASI ANDROGINI DI TikTok (Analisa Wacana Kritis dalam Perspektif Gender Trouble)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the self-openness of feminine (androgynous) men in the context of TikTok social media, using a critical discourse analysis approach from a gender trouble perspective. Through the collection and analysis of data from TikTok content activities led by androgynous individuals who express and actualize feminine traits, this study will explore how androgynous openness can influence gender identity construction in the context of digital culture. Taking into account contemporary feminist theories, this study will also examine the power dynamics and resistance of the dialectic of discourse. The method in this study uses an interpretive paradigm with a qualitative approach and the type of research uses content analysis. The research subjects were taken through TikTok social media using purposive research subject determination methods and data analysis techniques using Sara Mills' critical discourse analysis model. The theory used in this study is queer theory by Judith Butler. The results of this study illustrate the self-openness of feminine (androgynous) men on social media TikTok plays an important role in expanding the discourse on gender and identity. Through their content (fashion stylists, beauty content, skincare reviewers and influencers), they help expand and drive awareness of gender diversity and present more inclusive representation in the realm of social media. However, there are still major challenges faced, including the rejection of some societies that are still strong on conventional gender. So that gender diversity (fluid-neutral gender) becomes a dynamic of society in understanding a more expressive identity, especially in androgynous fashion
