ANALISIS KARAKTERISTIK AKUIFER KARST DENGAN UJI PERUNUTAN DAN PEMETAAN GUA

Abstract

Characteristics of karst hydrogeology is important to support future management planning. However, the passage in the karst area are not all accessible due to various obstacles such as narrowing the passage so that humans can not enter it and there is a cave hall full of water, so the definition of karst hydrogeological system is difficult to do. This research was conducted in Pindul Cave and its surroundings located in District Karangmojo, Gunungkidul Regency. The objectives of this research are: (1) to analyze the hydrochloric test of tracing from branching of Pindul Cave system, (2) to know the morphometry of Tanding Cave as a new branching of Pindul Cave system. The method used in this study using survey methods that are divided into several stages include the preparation stage, field work stages, and post-field stage. The preparation stage includes selection of research sites and site selection for injection of tracer substances. The field work stage includes the installation of fluorometer in Pindul Cave, injection of tracer substance in Kedungbuntung sinking stream, and Tanding Cave mapping. Post-field stage is hydrochemical analysis of grading test and data processing of cave mapping. The results showed that: (1) there was a connectivity between the Kedungbuntung and Pindul Cave sinks which was detected for the first time 408 minutes after injection of tracer substances and from the hydrochemograph showed several peaks indicating the flow breaker, (2) from the Tanding Cave mapping that the length of the aisle is 375.9 meters, the cave volume is 17781.9 m3, the average diameter of the cave hall is 6.9 meters
