Sex differences concerning cooperation are (partially) mediated by risk preferences but not social preferences: An in-depth analysis across 10 countries

Abstract

With subsamples of several different nations we will investigate whether gender stereotypes of prosocial women and competitive men transfer to expected cooperation in social dilemmas. Furthermore we will analyze whether differences in cooperation between men and women exist and whether a potential cooperation gap varies across nations. Finally, we aim at identifying factors explaining this cooperation gap
