O objetivo geral deste trabalho é a quantificação do volume de fraldas descartáveis gerados em
unidades de educação infantil pública/creche nos municípios da região da Associação dos Municípios
do Meio Oeste Catarinense (AMMOC) e descrever os métodos de tratamento e destinação final para
a geração destes resíduos sólidos. Foram solicitadas informações relacionadas ao número de crianças
inscritas que frequentaram as creches públicas pertencentes a cada município no ano de 2018. De
posse destes dados foi possível dimensionar o impacto causado e a projeção da quantidade de fraldas
descartadas ao longo da permanência destas crianças na creche, considerando que todas as creches
infantis possuem um cronograma de rotina destinada ao desenvolvimento de habilidades da criança,
higiene (troca de fraldas), alimentação e bem-estar. Dos 12 municípios, 7 propuseram repassar
informações para elaboração desta pesquisa, totalizando 1.465 crianças atendidas, obtendo um
resultado de fraldas descartadas estimada de 6.097mil/diárias.The general objective of this paper is to quantify the volume of disposable diapers generated in public
daycare centers in the municipalities of the Association of Municipalities of the Midlewest of Santa
Catarina (AMMOC) and describe the methods of treatment and final destination for the generation
of these solid waste. Information was requested related to the number of children enrolled who
attended public daycare centers belonging to each municipality in 2018. With these data in hand, it
was possible to measure the impact caused and the projection of the number of diapers discarded
during the time these children stayed in the daycare center, whereas all daycare centers have a
routine schedule designed to develop the child's skills, hygiene (diaper changing), food and well-
being. Of the 12 municipalities, 7 proposed to pass on information for the preparation of this
research, totaling 1,465 children attended, obtaining a result of discarded diapers estimated at 6,097
thousand/day
