The bachelor thesis deals with the tax literacy of the population of the Czech Republic. In the literature search the concepts of literacy and functional literacy are discussed. The text then moves on to more specific terms such as economic and tax literacy. For tax literacy, research that has been conducted on this topic in the past is described. The practical part of the text deals with a questionnaire survey that was conducted to investigate the tax literacy of the population. The methodol- ogy of the survey and the subsequent statistical evaluation of the data obtained from the respondents are described. Finally, the hypotheses are tested to identify the factors affecting tax literacy, together with the formulation of recommenda- tions on how the level of tax literacy can be improved
