The physical appearance and body shape, especially for women, are often primary concerns. The desire to have an ideal body is influenced by beauty standards formed in society. Discrepancies between these standards and reality can lead to the emergence of negative judgments about body shape and size, particularly due to the presence of digital media serving as a platform to showcase images of women with bodies deemed ideal. This encourages women to strive for these beauty standards. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between social comparison and body dissatisfaction in early adult women who use Instagram. The research employs a quantitative correlational method with 494 women aged 18-25 actively using Instagram as participants, selected through accidental sampling. The measurement tools used are The Upward and Downward Appearance Comparison Social and Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ-34). The analysis method involves the multiple correlation. The research findings indicate that the correlation coefficient (r) for upward social comparison is 0.923, and the correlation coefficient for downward social comparison is 0.929, with a significance value (p) of 0.000 < 0.05 regarding body dissatisfaction. Thus, it can be interpreted that upward and downward social comparisons are significantly positively related to body dissatisfaction
