PELATIHAN KEBERSYUKURAN UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KESEJAHTERAAN SUBJEKTIF PADA PEKERJA MIGRAN INDONESIA DI SHELTER KONSULAT JENDERAL REPUBLIK INDONESIA PENANG

Abstract

Indonesian Migrant Workers who are in shelter has experienced various problems such as employment problems, limitations on freedom during their stay in shelters, anxiety, and concerns. Among those problems that has been experienced, it can provoke decreased in subjective well-being, so that interventions were needed to improve the subjective well-being. This research aims to test the effectiveness of gratitude training in improving the subjective well-being of Indonesian Migrant Workers residing in shelter Indonesian Consulate General in Penang. This research employed a quantitative approach pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument were using Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The sampling technique in this research were using non probability sampling with models purposive sampling. The subjects in this study consisted of 5 participants. The data obtained was analyzed using non-parametric analysis techniques Wilcoxon signed rank-test. The results of this research indicate that the hypothesis was rejected, gratitude training was not effective in improving the subjective well-being of Indonesian Migrant Workers in shelter Indonesian Consulate General in Penang with a probability value of 0.813 (p > 0.05). The effect size was using rank biserial correlation shows a value of 0.2, which means that the gratitude training intervention has a small effect on subjective well-being
