Abstract
The scientific literature has reported cases of patients who had improvement in health symptoms attributed to spiritual interventions. The objective of this study is to report a case of physical healing of a breast lump attributed to a spiritual treatment (ST). This is a case study developed from a qualitative approach, through an interview carried out in a spiritist center. One woman reported that, after detecting a breast nodule with malignant characteristics, she underwent ST. In the subsequent biopsy no nodular formations were identified. The participant attributed this condition to the ST effect. As researchers in the field of ethnopsychology, it is imperative that we move away from moral judgment or reality in relation to the story on screen. Embracing different health-disease-care experiences, especially in the field of health care, in a position of respect and genuine interest, can contribute to the integration of different intelligibility.A literatura científica tem reportado casos de pacientes que tiveram melhora de sintomas de saúde atribuídos a intervenções espirituais. O objetivo deste estudo é relatar um caso de cura física de um nódulo de mama atribuída a um tratamento espiritual (TE). Trata-se de um estudo de caso desenvolvido a partir da abordagem qualitativa, por meio de entrevista realizada em um centro espírita. A participante narrou que, após detectar um nódulo de mama com características malignas, submeteu-se ao TE. Na posterior biópsia, não foram identificadas formações nodulares. A participante atribuiu essa condição ao efeito do TE. Como pesquisadores no campo da etnopsicologia, é mister que nos afastemos de julgamento moral ou de realidade em relação ao relato em tela. O acolhimento das diferentes experiências de saúde-doença-cuidado, sobretudo no campo da atuação em saúde, em uma posição de respeito e de genuíno interesse, pode contribuir para a integração de diferentes inteligibilidades
