International Survey of Infant Formula Health and Nutrition Claims

Abstract

Health and nutrition claims used in infant formula marketing as a part of commercial determinants of health are controversial and banned in some jurisdictions due to their potential to undermine breastfeeding, and their methodological quality has been called into question. The aim of this study is to review available health and nutrition claims made for infant formula products in multiple countries and evaluate the validity of the evidence used for claim substantiation
