INSTRUMENTS QUALITY OF LIFE ASSESSMENT IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH NEUROMUSCULAR DISEASES: A SYSTEMATIC SCOPING REVIEW

Abstract

Neuromuscular diseases (NMD) comprise a set of hereditary or acquired and progressive diseases that affect anterior horn cells, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction and skeletal muscle. Structure and function problems as well as disabilities are common in NMD patients and directly affect quality of life.Objective: (1) To identify the main instruments used to assess the quality of life in children and adolescents with neuromuscular disease; (2) Check the validation of instruments for the pediatric population. Methodology: This is a scoping review, where searches were carried out in the main databases, such as PubMed, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews and PROSPERO, and no reviews were found on the quality of life of children and adolescents with neuromuscular diseases
