While JAPAS has a particular focus on the Amish, it also addresses the Apostolic Christian, Brethren/German Baptist, Bruderhof, Hutterite, Russian Mennonite, Swiss Mennonite, and related traditions.Content: JAPAS accepts original research, research notes, service provider reports that discuss a practical project, sympo-siums, essays, and the research of plain Anabaptist adherents. Publishers or authors wishing to submit a book for review should contact the editor.Letters to the Editor: Letters in response to published content, such as research articles and book reviews, are published at the editor’s discretion. Letters should be succinct. Original authors may further reply with a similarly succinct rejoinder.Format: Referencing style is similar to the American Journal of Sociology. Correct formatting is not required on an initial submission, although authors are required to bring the manuscript into conformity if accepted.Submissions: Submit content at https://ideaexchange.uakron.edu/amishstudies/ or by postal mail: JAPAS, P.O. Box 37, Mt. Hope, OH 44660. Include an anonymized manuscript, abstract, keywords, and cover letter with author info.Book review panel: The JAPAS book review panel consists entirely of plain Anabaptist adherents. The panel’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for adherents to (1) facilitate responses to books written about their people by non-adherent authors, and (2) promote and engage intellectual content written by adherent authors.Association: The Amish & Plain Anabaptist Studies Association welcomes to its membership scholars, service providers, instructors, plain people, and others interested in plain Anabaptist research.
