Catholic high schools in the United States are a major operational alternative to public education. They assume some of the responsibility for providing an educated citizenry in the United States. In order that Catholic high schools might continue as a viable means of Christian, citizen formation, it is significant that these schools are attentive to the com­munity that surrounds the learning environment
