Ltd. (empresa sediada na Irlanda), no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue, na
Escola de Letras, Artes e Ciências Humanas na Universidade do Minho.
Durante o estágio trabalhei no domínio da tradução especializada e, brevemente, em gestão de projetos,
ao longo dos quatro meses. Os principais objetivos do estágio eram desenvolver capacidades de tradução,
compreender como funciona uma empresa prestadora de serviços de tradução, e obter experiência
profissional. Este relatório apresenta um quadro teórico no contexto da tradução geral e especializada, a
fim de explorar a temática da tradução técnica de documentos oficiais, a par do trabalho desenvolvido
em estágio. Com base nestas ideias, é apresentada a entidade anfitriã, e as tarefas completadas durante
o estágio, posteriormente examinadas de forma mais crítica com recurso ao quadro teórico adotado.
Este relatório encontra-se dividido em três partes essenciais: I. apresentação do estágio e da empresa,
II. um enquadramento teórico, e, finalmente, III. apresentação das atividades e metodologias do trabalho
e análise crítica do trabalho desenvolvido durante o estágio, dividida em subcapítulos que exploram a
parte teórica e prática do mesmo.
Em anexo a este relatório encontram-se vários documentos trabalhados durante o estágio (em formato
template, anonimizados por motivos de confidencialidade), que servem também de base para a análise
e desenvolvimento deste relatório.
O objetivo deste relatório de estágio é fornecer uma visão global e uma análise da experiência do estágio.
Serve como reflexão sobre as competências que adquiri, as tarefas realizadas, os desafios encontrados
e os conhecimentos adquiridos durante o estágio. O relatório pretende destacar o valor e a relevância do
estágio em relação aos meus objetivos educacionais e profissionais.This report reflects the work developed during my four-month internship at Word Perfect Translations Ltd.
(an Irish-based company), as part of the Master's in Translation and Multilingual Communication at the
University of Minho’s School of Arts and Humanities.
During the internship I worked in the domain of specialized translation and briefly in project management
throughout the four months. The main objectives of the internship were to develop translation skills, to
understand how a company which provides translation services works, and to obtain professional
experience. This report presents a theoretical framework in the context of general and specialized
translation in order to explore the topic of technical translation of official documents, along with the work
done in the internship. Based on these ideas, the host entity is presented, and the tasks completed during
the internship are then critically examined using the theoretical framework.
This report is divided into three essential parts: I. presentation of the internship and the company, II. a
theoretical framework, and finally, III. presentation of the activities and methodologies of the work and a
critical analysis of the work developed during the internship, divided into subchapters that explore the
theoretical and practical part of it.
Attached to this report are several documents worked on during the internship (in template format,
anonymized for confidentiality reasons), which also serve as a basis for the analysis and development of
this report.
The purpose of this internship report is to provide an overview and analysis of the internship experience.
It serves as reflection on the skills I acquired, the tasks performed, the challenges encountered, and the
knowledge gained during the internship. The report aims to highlight the value and relevance of the
internship in relation to my educational and professional goals
