La pregunta de investigación

Abstract

The research question is the key aspect in an investigation. Its approach is a product of the idea of research, the deepening of the theory of the phenomenon of interest, the review of previous studies, interviews with experts, among others. In the quantitative approach the research question mentions the study of the objective reality, while in the qualitative approach it mentions the subjective reality. In this article a review is conducted of the process followed in the formulation of a research question and the required characteristics in the different research approaches. In conclusion, it is claimed that the question of qualitative research must possess the characterization of the construction of reality through meanings that emerge during the symbolic interaction of a human group. The question of quantitative research should make reference to the measurement, manipulation, and statistical analysis that may be performed on a certain phenomenon.La pregunta de investigación es el aspecto medular en una investigación. Su planteamiento es producto de la idea de investigación, profundización en la teoría del fenómeno de interés, revisión de estudios previos, entrevistas con expertos, entre otras. En el enfoque cuantitativo la pregunta de investigación hace mención al estudio de la realidad objetiva, mientras que en el enfoque cualitativo a la realidad subjetiva. En el presente artículo se hace una revisión del proceso que se sigue en el planteamiento de una pregunta de investigación y se describen las características que debe poseer en los diferentes enfoques de investigación. Como conclusión se afirma que la pregunta de investigación cualitativa debe poseer la caracterización de construcción de realidad mediante los significados que emergen en la interacción simbólica de un grupo humano. En la pregunta de investigación cuantitativa se debe hacer mención a la medición, manipulación o análisis estadístico que se pueda realizar a un determinado fenómeno
