Este artículo trata de evaluar los efectos de la revolución liberal
española, en sus diferentes fases, sobre la agricultura española.
Se organiza en cinco secciones. En la primera se relaciona el
programa desarrollado por los autores del reformismo ilustrado
con el de los liberales. En segundo lugar, se analiza la reforma
agraria liberal. En tercer lugar, se estudia una de las tensiones
recurrentes en la época a la hora de abordar cualquier cuestión
agraria: las complejas relaciones entre los poderes locales y
el poder central. En cuarto lugar, se aborda la integración del
mercado nacional y la relación que este debía mantener con los
mercados internacionales. Finalmente, y antes de concluir con un
balance general de las consecuencias agrarias de la revolución,
se ofrece un panorama de los cambios tecnológicos asociados a
todas estas complejas transformaciones institucionales a lo largo
del siglo XIX.This article aims at assessing the effects of the Spanish liberal revolution, in its different phases, upon agriculture. It is organ ised in five sections. The first one deals with the relationship between the programme that had been designed by enlight ened reformism and the one undertaken by liberals. Secondly,
the liberal agrarian reform is analysed. In the third place, one of the permanent elements of tension that appeared when governments wanted to put into practice any policy concern ing agriculture or rural society: the complex relations between local powers and central power. In the fourth place we sum up
the policies concerning the integration of the national market and its relationship with international markets- Finally, and be fore the conclusions that try to evaluate globally the agrarian consequences of the revolution, we offer a panorama of tech nological changes associated to all the complex institutional transformations of the nineteenth centur
