Densidad óptima de crianza en baterías para cuyes (Cavia porcellus L.) de la raza Perú en la fase de crecimiento en condiciones del trópico húmedo

Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the optimum density in the rearing of guinea pigs of the Peru breed in the growth phase, under humid tropical conditions. We used 200 guinea pigs (100 males and 100 females) weaned from the Peru breed at 30 days of age, distributed in a DBCA with 5 treatments (density = 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 animals/0.96m2) and 4 replications, being sex the blocking effect, the significant difference between treatments was performed with Duncan's test (5%), in addition, the linear regression test was performed to determine the optimum density. In the zootechnical parameters, significant differences were observed (P<0.05); obtaining for weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion the best result was evidenced in treatment T5 (D12) with 9.05g, 54.11g, 6.03 respectively. It was concluded that the best density for raising guinea pigs of the Peru breed in the growth phase under humid tropical conditions is 12 animals per 0.96 m2.El objetivo de esta investigación fue evaluar la densidad óptima en la crianza de cuyes de la raza Perú en la fase de crecimiento, en condiciones de trópico húmeda. Se utilizaron 200 cuyes (100 machos y 100 hembras) destetados de la raza Perú con 30 días de edad, distribuidos en un DBCA con 5 tratamientos (densidad = 8, 9, 10,11 y 12 animales/0.96m2) y 4 repeticiones, siendo el sexo el efecto de bloqueo, la diferencia significativa entre los tratamientos fue realizados con el test de Duncan (5%), además, se realizó la prueba de regresión lineal para determinar la densidad óptima. En los parámetros zootécnicos se observaron diferencias significativas (P<0.05); obteniéndose para la ganancia de peso, consumo de alimento y conversión alimenticia el mejor resultado se evidencio en el tratamiento T5 (D12) con 9.05g, 54.11g, 6.03 respectivamente. Se concluyó que la mejor densidad de crianza de cuyes de la raza Perú se dio en la fase de crecimiento y en condiciones de trópico húmeda es de 12 animales por 0.96 m2
