Abstract

<p>This dataset contains insect host plant relationships for insects and plants found in Puerto Rico as described in Luis F. Martorell's book, 'Annotated food plant catalog of the insects of Puerto Rico' (1976, University of Puerto Rico Agricultural Experiment Station, Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. 303 pp.). </p><p>The file is in .csv format. Taxonomic names are specified as listed in Martorell (1976) and should be cross-referenced with more updated nomenclature. Importantly, only insects of economic importance or capable of inflicting damage to the host plants were recorded, per Martorell (1976).
