Rather than originating from a concern for formal aesthetics, my work is more deeply rooted in a personal, spiritual involvement with my environment. This seems to be central to everything I do. I seek to develop an intuitive feeling about life. By being personal in my search, I hope to reveal something which is universal in nature. I find that in turning inward, I often am able to transcend myself and discover symbols and images which have this universal quality. I want to maintain a quiet presence in my work.</p
