El presente artículo es resultado de un trabajo de investigación construido básicamente en dos momentos: una  primera parte descriptiva, que arrojó los datos concernientes a las condiciones socioeconómicas, demográficas  y a las motivaciones de ingreso y permanencia en la carrera de los estudiantes y, un segundo momento,  orientado a la realización de una lectura sociológica del perfil a la luz de la categoría bourdeana de capital  cultural y su relación con el origen social de los estudiantes.The present article is the result of a research which was carried out basically in two steps: the first was a  descriptive phase, that provided information regarding the students’ socioeconomic and demographic  conditions and their motivations for entering and staying in the career. A second one, which was oriented  towards a sociological reading of the profile from the point of view of Bourdeau’s category “cultural capital”  and its relationship with their social origin
