WrightIrrigated Agriculture Research and Extension CenterWashington State UniversityProsser, WA 99350I have written a BASIC computer program for IBM-PC compatible computers thatdoes the calculations for spraying small plots with Hudson-type handsprayers. It assumes that the total contents of the sprayer will be appliedto each plot. This program makes spray calculations easier, faster and moreerror free than doing the calculations by hand.To run the program, you need to know the length and width of your plot infeet, pounds of active ingredient per acre, and the formulation of thepesticide. You can enter the amount of water per acre or amount of water inthe sprayer tank. The results of the water calculations are written on thescreen and you have the option of changing the amount of water until you geta satisfactory amount. The quantity of pesticide is also written on thescreen. If this amount is too small to accurately measure, you have theoption of making a stock mixture. You can change the amount of water andthe amount of pesticide in the stock mixture as many times as you like untilyou find a satisfactory combination. The final amounts of water andpesticide or stock mixture to put in the tank, as well as other usefulinformation in U.S. and metric units, is written by your printer.If you would like a copy of this program, send a blank, formatted, 5.25 inchfloppy disk to me and I will return your disk with the program.ko
