I just received my copy of Vol. 43 No. 2 of the Syracuse Law Review and enjoyed reading your article on "Crime and Punishment in the Federal Courts". I was interested to note your comment in the second line of that article that too much crime is prosecuted in the federal courts, and I wonder whether you have found a more receptive audience among law makers and in the criminal justice system than you found in the civil justice system when you made similar arguments about diversity cases! I hope that you will be back in chambers and on the bench soon, although, I expect that those who are much closer to you hope that you will take some time to fully recover and to "smell the roses".
