This study aims to analyze and describe: (1) The role of Civic Education teachers in fostering student learning motivation, (2) Obstacles experienced by Civic Education teachers in fostering learning motivation, and (3) Solutions carried out by Civic Education teachers in fostering learning motivation in the Package C Equality Program at SKB Kab. Malang.
This type of research is qualitative research using qualitative descriptive research design by taking place at SKB Kab. Malang. Data sources were obtained from equality program coordinators, Civic Education teachers, and students with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis using theory from Miles and Hubberman.
The results of this study show that the role of Civic Education teachers at SKB Kab. Malang in fostering the motivation to learn Package C students is by conducting discussions or sharing, through this method it can make students interested and understand the material easily. In the sharing session, Civic Education teachers can include motivational words and advice for students. In the sharing session, The teacher using video or education movie as a learning media. The obstacles encountered by Civic Education teachers are the physical and psychological conditions of students caused by problems inside and outside school. This causes often students to be exhausted so they cannot focus while learning. The solution to overcome these obstacles is that Civic Education teachers will take a personal approach to students, then find solutions together. The character of Civic Education teachers who are fun and can act like friends also helps students to be interested in every Civic Education lesson hour
