Davide Beraldo is assistant professor of New Media, Data and Information at the department of media studies, University of Amsterdam. Giovanni Rossetti has been conducting ethnographic research with food-delivery riders in several countries. They are both part of the Dutch-Italian connection that has been central in the development of these interviews. During the interview, the theme of “generation” emerged in different senses of the expression: different generations of platforms; different generations of attitudes towards platforms;!different attitudes of different generations towards platforms; as well as how platforms are generative mechanisms. Hence, if this interview was a meme, it would be: “Are platforms actually overrated?”. The interview took place in October 2021 at the Institute of Information Law (IViR), while drinking some fine beers. <br/
